Top Ten Tuesday

toptentuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the Broke and Bookish

Hey guys! This weeks TTT is top ten books that have been on my TBR for ages, but I have yet to read. I do actually have a few books running around here that I have owned for ages and I haven’t read… even though I was so excited about reading them when I bought them!! *hangs head* … Here is my top ten, in no particular order:

10.ice like fire Ice Like Fire by Sara Raasch – I have had this on my kindle for a while now. I absolutely loved the first instalment in this series, and I even downloaded this straight after finishing it! For some reason, I still haven’t gotten around to it! I am still looking forward to this book, despite the mixed reviews!

9. stolen songbird Stolen Songbird by Danielle L. Jensen – Another book I have had on my kindle for a while now. I kinda bought this book on a whim, definitely one I had heard a lot about but had never checked out myself! I really should read it soon…

8. winter Winter by Marissa Meyer – I was late to jump on the Lunar Chronicle bandwagon and I kicked myself a lot because I absolutely loved them all!! I bought this book from my local bookstore a while back and it has been sat on my night stand ever since! Im not even sure why… Maybe because of the sheer size?!?

7. a feast for crows A Feast for Crows by George R. R. Martin – I have loved all of the ASOIAF books so far… I also absolutely adore GoT (it’s one of my all time favourite tv shows), I have this book on my kindle… I even started reading it months ago. And then I stopped!

6. the lie tree The Lie Tree by Frances Hardinge – Yet another book I bought from the bookstore and I never actually read. It is sat next to Winter as we speak… but look at that amazing cover!

5. first kiss First Kiss by C. L. Stone – I received an ARC of this from the author (like I do all of her books) and while I did start reading it months ago, I have never really been in the mood for this book… despite the fact that I love this series!!

4. court of fives Court of Fives by Kate Elliott – Yet another book that has been sat on my kindle for a while! There seems to be a pattern going on here…

3. invisible I am Invisible I Am by gregg davis by Harriet Showman – Weird title alert!! I have actually technically already read and reviewed this book; however,  the version I received from Netgalley was full of missing words and what not which affected my reading experience as a whole! The author kindly provided me with a new version… and I haven’t read it since!

2. the darkest minds The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken – This book just stares at me, along with Winter and The Lie Tree, when I go to bed! I will read it soon!

1. rebel of the sands Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton – I have had this on my TBR since before it came out. I bought this for my kindle pretty much when it came out… and I haven’t read it! Despite the raving reviews!

I will read all of these books… soon I hope!! I can’t believe some of these even had to make this list!

What books have you had on your shelves for ages but have never read? Feel free to leave links and comments and I will check them all out!

It seems to be a popular problem with us book bloggers to buy books excitedly and then not get around to them for a while! Ha. I hope you can get around to these books soon.

Stolen Songbird and The Lie Tree are two of my favourite books from the last few years. I hope you get to read them soon. I’ve only read Cinder from the Lunar Chronicles series but I did love it so I’m not sure why I haven’t finished the series yet.

It’s hard to find time for every single new book but it makes me sad to think I bought some books as soon as they came out and then never read them. I could have got them now for nearly nothing. 😦 Oh well.

    Happy Reading

I do definitely want to get to them soon!! I did absolutely love the other books in the Lunar Chronicles, so I’m not sure why Winter has been sitting around for so long!! It is definitely hard to find time for every book you want to read! I think we should find a way to be able to go without sleep!!

I have mostly heard good things. I try not to let a bad review out me off because I have found that I have loved books that everyone else has hated and hated books that everyone else has loved!! So, hopefully I will love it!

The 3rd Game of Thrones book is on my TBR list of shame. I keep telling myself I’m going to read it this summer, so hopefully I won’t let myself down, haha.

I have stopped trying to set myself a set TBR because I have always said In going to read a specific book in a month and I haven’t!! I tend to just read whatever I want… Probably why I haven’t finished GOT yet!!

I’m hoping I will feel the same way when I start to read it, otherwise it is going to put me in a book slump and it will take me forever to finish!!

Well, the books that I have read from both series are pretty great!! I am also hoping that I can same the same for Rebel of the Sands when I have finally gotten around to reading it!!

Great list! I have read and loved Winter and The Darkest Minds, so I would definitely recommend those! I liked Ice Like Fire, though I preferred the first book Snow Like Ashes More. But I still liked it and have high hopes for Frost Like Night 🙂
Stolen Songbird, Court of Fives and Rebel of the Sands are still on my TBR as well.

These are some great picks for this week Lauren, and some of these books are favourites of mine as well so I would highly highly recommend them; Winter, The Darkest Minds and Rebel of the Sands to name a few! 🙂
I still need to read Ice Like Fire myself but I’ve seen great reviews for the series so I’m sure it will be great, and I’m sure you’ll love all these books when you get around to them as well. Do you have plans to start any of them anytime soon?

I have heard some really mixed opinions about Ice and Fire – a lot of people think it suffers from second book slump! But I’m hoping it won’t in my opinion! I don’t know, I tend to read according to my mood so… Hopefully when I have cut through the review books I will 🙂

      • Beth (Reading Every Night) says:

Ahh, I haven’t read it myself yet but I’m thinking of starting it soon (I need to re-read the first book first).
I hope it won’t either but I guess we wont know until we do read it. Yeah I’m a mood reader as well but at the moment I’m seriously considering going back to that series! 😀

      • lry93 says:

If I can find a refresher that is good enough to remind me of most things that happened in the book, I’m not really bothered about re reading 🙂 I tend to re read books I love 🙂

      • Beth (Reading Every Night) says:

Normally I use Wikipedia for things like that, and I’m guessing with a series that’s as popular as this one is there’ll be a pretty decent reminder available! 🙂
I’ll honestly re-read anything as long as I didn’t completely hate it! 🙂

      • lry93 says:

I will normally re read something – I don’t mind re reading. But with the amount of books I have to read, I don’t have time for a re read

Ice Like Fire, The Darkest Minds & Rebel of the Sands are great. I hope you enjoy them. Thanks for sharing, and for stopping by my TTT earlier. 🙂
