After reading that blurb, I was definitely looking forward to reading this book. However, the book was found lacking and I actually ended up DNFing it! I felt so bored reading this book and I felt so detached from everything that was happening.

From the very first page, we are literally thrown into this world that we know nothing about. There are issues we know nothing about and I feel like there is very little context or world building provided before we are being forced into this rebellion. I was unconvinced and I just did not enjoy it because I spent half my time trying to figure out what was even going on!

Another issues I had with this book was the POV’s. I really enjoy multiple POVs when it is done right, however, the voices here constantly blended together and I found myself actually having to go back and see who’s perspective I was reading from. There was no individuality and I was really disappointed.

Another issue I had with this book was the way in which this story was being told. I felt like it was very much telling me what happened rather than showing me. It was extremely choppy and I think this definitely contributed to my issues trying to actually get into this book.

All in all, I was pretty disappointed with this book. I really did try to get into it, but it just wasn’t my kind of thing! I was expecting something really great as well, because the reviews on Goodreads are pretty good! I do, however, love the cover! I gave this book 1/5 stars.
