Hey guys! Can you actually believe that is the end of August already?!? Crazy. Anyway, this weeks pick is a book that I actually have on my shelf waiting for me! I have heard some pretty good things about it, so I am looking forward to it!
The Girl with All the Gifts by M. R. Carey
Published: June 19th 2014 by Orbit
Melanie is a very special girl. Dr. Caldwell calls her “our little genius.”
Every morning, Melanie waits in her cell to be collected for class. When they come for her, Sergeant Parks keeps his gun pointing at her while two of his people strap her into the wheelchair. She thinks they don’t like her. She jokes that she won’t bite, but they don’t laugh.
Melanie loves school. She loves learning about spelling and sums and the world outside the classroom and the children’s cells. She tells her favorite teacher all the things she’ll do when she grows up. Melanie doesn’t know why this makes Miss Justineau look sad.
Like I said, I have heard some really amazing things, so I am definitely looking forward to this book! I actually have the cover that comes from the film, which also isn’t a bad cover, but I much prefer this one!!

I can’t believe August is nearly over either, where is this year going?
Anyways this sounds like a really interesting book, and is this being made into a film because I could have sworn I saw a trailer that is very similar to this blurb. Either way this sounds like a great book and I can’t wait to see your review for it. I hope you really enjoy it! π
I have the book that has the film cover, so it is definitely in film form! I am looking forward to it though π
So it must have been the trailer I saw for it then! I thought the blurb sounded familiar π
This book was pretty good. It’s not my usual fare, but I did enjoy the twist on the genre. I hope you enjoy it!
It does sound really interesting π thanks for stopping by
