A woman awoken in air, a soldier forged by fire, a weapon risen from blood.

Vhalla Yarl has made it to the warfront in the North. Forged by blood and fire, she has steeled her heart for the final battle of the Solaris Empire’s conquest. The choices before Vhalla are no longer servitude or freedom, they are servitude or death. The stakes have never been higher as the Emperor maintains his iron grip on her fate, holding everything Vhalla still has left to lose in the balance.

I literally went and bought this book in the Kindle Store straight after finishing Fire Falling. After the ending in Fire Falling, I HAD to know what happens next! My brain didn’t want to sleep, it wanted answers! Fire Falling was more of a character based book and I mentioned in my review that I hoped Earth’s End would be more of a plot based book – which it most definitely was!!!

Almost from the get go we have our very first mission! I loved how Vhalla’s loyalty to Aldrik remains unwavering – I mean, considering what she did!! I love the fact that she risks herself and her freedom to do what she did. I feel like she really comes into her own in this book by showing just how strong she is, both physically and mentally. I also loved the fact that she didn’t bow down to the Emperor Solaris and, when she did, it made him look bad – so it was more of a political move than anything else.

I think what I enjoyed the most about this book was the fact that it was almost non stop action. One thing after another after another led me to read this book as fast as I could and I was left on the edge of my seat! I think, through this, we definitely got to know the Emperor Solaris more and the way he is under stress – which is to say, not very nice!! Can we kill him off yet??

Jax!! I think it is understandable why everyone loves Jax! He is our favourite witty character, who knows how to lighten things up when everything gets too intense! Despite this, however, he knew when things got serious and he tried to deal with it in the best way possible – and then he went and made another joke! I actually really loved his character and I cannot wait to see more of him in this series!!

I also think that Aldrik comes a little bit into his own within this book. Whereas in previous books, he had barely suppressed actions of going against his dad, in this book he goes all out against his dad on things that he doesn’t think is right – especially when it comes to Vhalla. I loved the fact that he stood up for her to his father when he knows that she couldn’t (for example with the crystal cuffs) and on other matters as well. I think he is definitely shaping up to be an emperor of peace when his time comes!! I have to say, though, I did want to punch him at the end!! I hated the way he treated Vhalla and ugh. There are just no words.

That ending practically killed me! I was crying and earning the weird looks from my husband because I was bawling like a baby and he has no idea what is wrong with me! I mean – just as everything is going right, the comes along! like, seriously!! My brain did not want to compute what was happening!! So, here I am, silently crossing my fingers that all will turn out as planned!!

I really loved this book and I cannot wait to read Water’s Wrath!! I gave this book 5/5 stars!

Great review Lauren. I only skimmed through this one because I haven’t read the first yet and I don’t want to see any spoilers; but it’s great you loved it so much and that after finishing the first one you went straight out and brought the second. I love it when books are so good you immediately go out and buy the next in the series! 😀

Oooh if you loved this book and cried… just WAIT for Water’s Wrath! I think Elise named it such because of the wrath of the tears falling down your face- it is SO. GOOD. The ending of this one is SO brutal, isn’t it? You want to like, have WW immediately because HOW can you not!? So glad you loved it, great review- can’t wait to see what you think of the last two!! 😀
