Goodreads Monday is a weekly meme hosted here. To participate, choose a random book on your TBR and show it off. Don’t forget to link back here! If enough people participate, I will add a link up! 🙂
Hey guys! I can’t believe it is the beginning of the week already! The weekend was definitely too short! This week’s TBR is book that I ordered from Amazon yesterday (finally) after an extensive amount of time on my TBR list! I can’t wait to get to it!
The Merciless by Danielle Vega
Published June 12th 2014 by Razorbill
Forgive us, Father, for we have sinned
Brooklyn Stevens sits in a pool of her own blood, tied up and gagged. No one outside of these dank basement walls knows she’s here. No one can hear her scream.
Sofia Flores knows she shouldn’t have gotten involved. When she befriended Riley, Grace, and Alexis on her first day at school, she admired them, with their perfect hair and their good-girl ways. They said they wanted to save Brooklyn. They wanted to help her. Sofia didn’t realize they believed Brooklyn was possessed.
Now, Riley and the girls are performing an exorcism on Brooklyn—but their idea of an exorcism is closer to torture than salvation. All Sofia wants is to get out of this house. But there is no way out. Sofia can’t go against the other girls . . . unless she wants to be next. . . .
In this chilling debut, Danielle Vega delivers blood-curdling suspense and terror on every page. By the shockingly twisted end, readers will be faced with the most haunting question of all: Is there evil in all of us?
This sounds pretty creepy with some whacked out teenagers! Who doesn’t love that? I am not too keen on the cover, but I have high hopes for this book!
What are on your TBR’s?
Reblogged this on forthenovellovers.
I did not expect that blurb from that cover! It sounds like a good book (I’ll wait for your review before deciding whether to add it to my to-read list or not) but yeah I’m not too keen on the cover either!
I think it’s just too… Pink! I just don’t think it fits – although the symbol does!
The symbol definitely fits, the colour just seems to…upbeat, preppy… I can’t think of the right word but in my mind it just doesn’t match the tone the blurb is trying to convey!
I don’t think it does either – however, Rites of Passage by Joy N. Hensley has a cover that I would never go for, but the story was amazing… Let’s hope it’s another case of that!
Hopefully, I’ve read a fair few books where the cover hasn’t been great but the book has been amazing. Just proves the saying; never judge a book by it’s cover! 😀
Well, I guess I shall soon find out!! 🙂
I love how this book is hard cover but without a dust jacket and it has a really cool texture.
Sounds pretty cool… 🙂 can’t wait to get to it 🙂
