Thief by C. L. Stone

Thief

Hi guys! I am sorry that there is no blurb from the book, but I am having to do this from a phone – so I am sorry! Back to the review.

I loved this book! It was probably obvious that I would considering that I adore the Ghost Bird Series – this book was for me a must read! It was definitely worth it!

When I actually started this book, I was worried that it was going to be too similar to the Ghost Bird books. I wanted something different, but still holding some form of continuity between the books since we are still dealing with The Academy. This is exactly what I got! I loved the fact that there were moments within the books that pass together with the moments in the Ghost Bird books. I also liked the cross over of the characters, for example Silas. While we never actually met them in this book, they were mentioned, which means that their presence was there. That was enough for me.

I also really liked most of the characters. They were completely different to the others that I met in the other series, which makes it more interesting. I didn’t want similar characters because obviously that would have been boring. I think the only similarity between them is the fact that it is a single female being brought into an all male group. I think what I enjoyed most about this group was the fact that, unlike with Sang, they boys aren’t scared to mess around with Kayli, or for example hit her back if she lashes out at one of them. I really liked the personalities of both the boys and Kayli. I even liked the personality of Blake and found it difficult to actually dislike him considering he was supposed to be the “bad guy”

I feel like we didn’t see Kevin enough. Family first is the first rule of the Academy and, while they consider his girlfriend to be a part of his family, it annoyed me that he could so easily put his family to the side like that and not actually help them when they needed it. I really wanted to like all of the guys, but the way in which Kevin talks about Kayli at the end even though he doesn’t know her at all, I found irritating.

I liked the story line as well. I have the feeling that it is going to carry on with Blake, because some things just never end, but that doesn’t bother me at all. In fact I am looking forward to it. All I need to do is find a copy of Liar!!

I gave this book 5/5 stars 🙂
