Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Breaking the Spine
Hey Guys! So, the book I am waiting on I actually saw on Netgalley I think last week or the week before. I didn’t request it since it was asking for US and I am EU – I am clearly in the wrong part of the world over here!! Either way, I am looking forward to its release and having seen a review of it yesterday on Chrissi Reads, it has just made me want to read it all the more!!
Fifteen-year-old Lara finds her soulmate. There’s just one problem – he’s her teacher.
Lara’s life has changed radically since her father lost his job. As the eldest, Lara tries to keep upbeat, and the one outlet for all her problems is her diary where she can be open about how dire everything is at home, and worse, the fact that she’s being horrifically bullied at school.
And then a shining light comes out of the darkness – the new young and MALE teacher, Mr Jagger. The one person who takes Lara seriously and notices her potential. The one person who is kind to her. The one person who she falls madly and hopelessly in love with. The one person who cannot reciprocate her feelings … can he? (Goodreads)
I have actually been both a teacher and a personal tutor and I was, at one point, stuck into the position in which a student wanted a form of relationship with me. Of course I never reciprocated, that is completely and utterly wrong. However, the way in which you deal with a situation like that is a bit touchy and almost as if you are walking on egg shells. So I am interested to see how this author has dealt with this sort of “Forbidden” romance and whether she portrayed it accurately. 🙂
What are on your lists? Feel free to leave comments and links below and I will check them out!
